1. Agreement and operator
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern Song Separator at www.songseparator.com (the “Service”), provided by GRFN Studios LLC (“GRFN Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Song Separator is a free, browser-based tool that estimates either four stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) or six stems (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano, other) using WebGPU. Both engines operate entirely inside your browser without an audio-processing server. You can preview the results and export individual WAV files. The Service currently has no account or subscription requirement.
The Service depends on compatible browsers, hardware, device memory, third-party model availability, and an internet connection for initial website/model downloads. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every song or device.
3. Your music and your responsibility
You retain whatever rights you already hold in the recordings you process. GRFN Studios does not claim ownership of those recordings or of any rights you have in the separated audio. Local use of the Service does not grant you rights to someone else's recording.
You are responsible for having all necessary copyright, contractual, and other permissions for your use, distribution, publication, performance, or commercialization of any recording or separated stem. Separation does not remove existing intellectual property restrictions. You must not use the Service to violate applicable law or another person's rights.
4. Quality of results and backups
AI stem separation is approximate. Outputs may contain instrument bleed, missing content, distortion, silence, or artifacts. A successful download does not guarantee suitability for production, performance, or commercial use. Listen to and verify exported audio before relying on it.
Keep your own backups. Song Separator does not provide cloud storage, project accounts, or recovery of recordings or generated stems.
5. Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully and do not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, abuse infrastructure, circumvent security protections, or misrepresent your rights to material you process. We may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service for operational, legal, or security reasons.
6. Intellectual property and independent projects
GRFN Studios owns or licenses its original website design and materials. The Service also uses third-party open-source software and models, including Demucs, Demucs Web, BS-RoFormer and browser model exporters, which remain subject to their respective licenses. Their inclusion does not mean that the third-party developers sponsor, operate, or endorse Song Separator.
Links to third-party services or repositories are provided for reference. Each destination is responsible for its own content and terms.
Source-code license notices, including the MIT license for the BS-RoFormer Web implementation, are available for reference.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, OR ACCURACY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRFN STUDIOS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, AUDIO, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR ITS UNAVAILABILITY. NOTHING HERE EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY WHERE THAT WOULD BE UNLAWFUL.
9. Governing law and updates
Unless applicable consumer-protection laws provide otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may revise these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version and date. Continued use of the Service after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revision.
